Student Assistant Guide: Printer errors and issues

Load Tray 1 with paper

To fix this:

  1. Open the paper tray and close it.
  2. On the screen it will then say to choose another tray, press ok.
  3. Press ok.
  4. It will then say to select tray 2 press ok.
  5. Press ok.

Replace Maintenance Kit

The printers periodically flash the error message Replace Maintenance Kit.  This does not impede printing.  Let a staff member know if this is happening.

Replace black cartridge

The printer shows the message Replace Black Cartridge or Black Cartridge very low, refer to the page on changing Toner Cartridges on how to do this.

Other Error Messages

Any other error messages can usually be resolved by restarting the printer.  If this does not work, record the issue with the name of the error message appearing on the Equipment Report Sheet.
