Requesting Materials from Other Libraries

As you are conducting research, if you discover an article or book of interest and are unable to access the full-text, you can an request the item through either SUNY Resource Sharing or Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  These services are free of charge to all Marist students.  View the information on this page to discover how to use SUNY Resource Sharing, ILL and start submitting requests.

If requesting a book, please search the SUNY Resource Sharing catalog first before using ILL.

If requesting an article, please use ILL.

SUNY Resource Sharing

  • Search the SUNY Resource Sharing Catalog first to request books or DVDs.
  • You do not need to create a separate account to use SUNY Resource Sharing.
  • Submit requests through FoxHunt, you'll need to login with your Marist username and password to complete the process.
  • SUNY Resource Sharing is only available to current Marist students, staff and faculty.
  • Requests not fillable through SUNY Resource Sharing are automatically resubmitted as an ILL request.

Interlibrary Loan

You no longer need to create an account to use ILL, simply login with your Marist username and password when prompted.

Use ILL to submit a request for a journal article or book that is not available in the library or through SUNY Resource Sharing.

  • After signing into your ILL account, click on "Create Request," Then choose Article or Book in the top menu
  • Complete as much of the request form as possible, especially the fields with asterisks.
  • You will be notified by email when the item is available.

Finding an ISSN for an Article Request

ISSN is now a required field to request an article through ILL. The link below brings you to advice on how to find the ISSN. If you cannot locate the ISSN, ask for help or type in I don't know.
