Primary, Secondary, & Tertiary Sources: Other Archival and Special Collections

What are Archival and Special Collections?

Repositories that hold unique and often primary source materials.  These include libraries, museums, local historical organizations, and government departments.

Archives hold information on an organization's history such as a college or business.  These collections are the by-product of organization's operation.

Special Collections are independently created collections, usually from individuals or organizations, which is then given to a repository to provide access.
