How do I borrow books?

Books can be checked out at the Circulation Desk using your Marist ID card.

You may find books on the shelf yourself, or place a Hold Request (See box: Requesting Library Items)

If placing a Hold Request, please allow up to 24 hours for your item to be retrieved. you will be notified via email when your item becomes available. Once you have been notified that your item is available, present your Marist ID at the Circulation Desk located at the entrance of the Library. 

How do I borrow DVDs?

Finding and Borrowing a DVD

Search in FoxHunt and limit by Source Type. In addition to digital videos, you will see results from the library's DVD collection.

Where can I watch a DVD?

Some DVDs are designated for in-library use, which means that they may not be taken out of the library building. They may be viewed on your personal laptop or on the DVD players located on the West side of the second floor. Headphones and remote controls are available at the Circulation desk.

How do I view my borrowing record?

You can view your borrowing record by selecting "My Account" in the top menu in FoxHunt. This will bring you to your Library Card page.

Lost and Overdue Items

Students who keep library materials beyond the due date will receive overdue notices. Long overdue items may result in borrowing privileges being revoked.

Unreturned items will result in students being billed a replacement fee through the Student Financial Services office. Fees are to be paid to Student Financial Services .

 

Reserve Readings

How do I find my reserve readings?

  1. Request your Reserve items at the Circulation Desk. Know the item title and call number or the name of your Instructor and your course. 
  2. Request a specific book or reading. Reserve items are findable in a FoxHunt search and Reserve Reading lists will be linked on the Course Reserve Guide.
  3. Borrow reserve materials for 3 hour in-library use by presenting your Marist ID.  Your ID will be held at the desk during the loan.

Requesting Library Items

Hold Requests allow you to request books and other library materials and pick them up at the circulation desk for borrowing or in-library use.
