Collaborative Rooms: Presentation Practice Room in the Library

The Presentation Practice Room Supply Kit (available for check out at the Circulation Desk) which contains:

1. Remote for Camera
2. Remote for the TV
3. HDMI cable-this is to connect your laptop to the tv

Using Your Laptop

If your laptop does not have an HDMI port, you will need to use the desktop computer and open your slides on there.

1. Turn on the TV using the remote
2. Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop and the wall port
3. Connect your laptop to TV
   1. Press "Windows" button and "K" key
   2. In the right hand window that opens, select LIB 314 Presentation TV (this turns on screen sharing)
   3. This may take a few minutes and may say unable to connect (this is because it is looking for a Wi-Fi connection which does not exist).  As long as you can see the computer screen on the TV, you are good to go
4. Open your slides on the computer
5. Put them into presentation mode
   • The computer is set up to automatically extend the public facing slides onto the TV while presenter view will appear on the desktop computer.
6. Follow the directions in the "How to Record a Presentation" box for recording as you go through your slides

Using the Desktop Computer Nearest the TV

1. Turn on the TV using the remote
2. If using your laptop, plug the HDMI cable into your laptop and the wall port
3. If using the desktop computer closest to the TV, make sure the computer is on and connect the desktop computer to the TV
   1. Press "Windows" button and "K" key

1. Turn on the camera using the remote (check this out at the Circulation Desk)

• This can also be used to adjust the zoom and position of the camera
• Make sure the camera is connected to the desktop computer nearest the TV

2.  Open the Zoom or Panopto available on the screen of the desktop computer nearest the TV
   • You can also record on your computer if you choose, so open the recording software on that computer instead and connect the camera to your computer (it requires a USB port)

2. Login with your Marist username and password to the internet (you will need to login to an internet browser first)
3. Login with your Marist username and password to Zoom or Panopto
4. Once open, set the video to "Konftel Cam20" instead of "Internal Camera"
5. If using slides, set them up on your computer or the desktop computer and connect to the Roku
   • See the "How to Show Slides or Other Presentation Materials on the Screen" Box for more information on setting this up
6. Hit the record button in Zoom or Panopto
7. To end the video click stop or stop recording

Close all windows to fully sign out of Panopto or Zoom, if you do not, others can see your video.

• Make sure that the camera is on, use the remote for the camera to turn it on.

• Make sure that the camera is connected to the desktop computer nearest the TV, it will not have power unless it is connected

• Make sure that the desktop computer nearest the TV is on, the power button is on the right side of the computer

• If using slides, make sure that the TV is on, use the remote to turn it on.
