ConnectNY & InterLibrary Loan: How to Request a Book

Request books, DVDs, articles, dissertations, graphic novels, and children's books from other libraries!

General Rules

  • Do not request textbooks or eBooks.
  • ConnectNY Books arrive in 5 business days.  ILL Books arrive in at least 7 business days.  ILL Books have a due date placed on the front of the book, determined by the lending library.
  • An email will be sent when the books arrive.
  • Books are picked up at the Library Circulation Desk, on the second floor to your left as you enter.

Requesting a Book

In the drop down, select Title and type in the book's title, omit "a", "an" and "the" from the title's beginning when searching.  You can also search by Author, Keyword, and Subject.

Click on the book title in the results.  It may also bring up results that contain your search words, but are not the exact title you typed in.

Select the book you are looking for in the list that appears.  Once in the book record, click "Request this Item"

On the page that opens, select Marist from the dropdown

Type in your name and CWID number and click Submit

In the main account screen, click on Create Request

Select Book/Dissertation in the top menu

Fill Out Form Provided and Submit Request

  • Fill out required sections of the form.
  • Adding the ISBN speeds the request.
  • Needed Before Date is a required field, select a date in a month in advance of when you need it by, it will most likely take only 7 business days, but a month will prevent cancellation by the system.
  • Once the form is filled out click on the Submit Request button at the bottom of the form
