Mindful Meal Prepping to Improve Focus and Concentration

Monday, October 18, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Live Virtual Program through WebEx

This informative and interactive workshop will be sponsored by OAA, the Senior Year Experience, and Sodexo. Valley Café – Eating to Gain Focus and Concentration

Tuesday, October 19, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Quiet Dining Room

Enjoy a healthy lunch that will improve one’s focus and concentration. As you dine, learn about the foods that will improve focus and concentration, especially, for people who have been diagnosed with ADHD. This event is sponsored by OAA and Sodexo.

Disabilities, Dogs, and Destressing

Wednesday, October 20, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Champagnat Breezeway

Spend time unwinding with local therapy dogs, while learning about how these furry friends help those with both visible and invisible disabilities. Pamphlets will be provided about the differences between Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals as well.

Not All Disabilities Look Alike

Wednesday, October 20, 11 AM - 12 PM, Cabaret

This interactive program will include students sharing disability information and will engage the audience to participate in a disability quiz. The program will end with a Q and A and a raffle. This event is sponsored by Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi).

Thursday, October 21, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Student Center Room 3101

The documentary, Autism Goes to College, is packed with honest insights for students, parents, and educators offering an eye-opening look at what a growing number of neurodiverse students are bringing to campus.

On display all week, in the Library, created by the Library staff, is an exhibit that includes books, resources, and information about disabilities.

Stop on by OAA in Donnelly 226 to check out the Disability Awareness Week Bulletin Board.

Information about disability laws and the history of disability rights in the United States will be on Instagram (dapi.marist). Members of Delta Alpha Pi will be posting throughout the week.

The lights on the Mid-Hudson Bridge will be lit blue for the entire week in honor of Disability Awareness Week.
